World Savvy Minneapolis is holding their annual World Affairs Challenge which is an academic program and competition on international affairs for 6-12th grade students. Over a two-three month preparation period, students work in teams with an adult coach or teacher to explore the annual global theme. Through the Challenge, students learn critical thinking, communication and collaboration skills as they create solutions to real world problems.
In order to make the World Affairs Challenge a success, World Savvy needs members of the community to volunteer their time to serve as Judges on Challenge day. Judges will evaluate students’ Formal Presentations, Collaborative Questions and Discovery Posters and engage in a Q&A with students. Little prior knowledge relating to the theme is required. Anyone with a passion for education and an interest in global issues is encouraged to participate as a judge.
If you’re interested in volunteering on a MINN volunteer judging team please contact Michael Gerba at mogerba@gmail.com or to volunteer individually or on your own team you can contact Charmagne Campbell-Patton at Charmagne@worldsavvy.org or call her at 763.588.7440
