MINN Celebrates the Holidays with Happy Hour at Blue Nile on Dec 6th ‘05
Although it was cold outside, over a dozen international professionals joined together to share some holiday cheer and conversation on Tuesday, December 6th at the Blue Nile Restaurant and Bar in Minneapolis. This was the second happy hour organized by The Midwest International NGO Network (MINN), a new group of individuals working (or professionally interested) in the fields of international development and humanitarian work.
The idea for the MINN happy hour developed after a series of small get-togethers, often at the home of Nancy Miller of the American Refugee Committee. Explains one of the original guests, “We all came from different international nonprofits or international experiences and lived in the area. We delighted in hearing each other’s stories and felt a real community blossoming. We realized that there was no reason to be ignorant of each other’s work and thought: why don’t we open this up to others?”
Following the tradition of Tuesday night events, MINN invites all international professionals and interested friends and colleagues to drop in on the next MINN event scheduled for Tuesday, February 7th at 6 PM. The location will be announced in a future e-mail. Please save the date!
