Land O’Lakes International Development Budget Analyst Position – Shoreview, MN

Land O’Lakes International Development seeks an experienced Budget Analyst to prepare proposal budgets. The Budget Analyst will work closely with the new business development and finance teams to ensure accurate, thorough and well written budgets and cost proposals. As a part of the Finance team, this position will also be responsible loading and maintaining project budgets and conducting monthly budget variance analysis. This position is based in Shoreview, MN.
* Generating costing budgets for new proposals in accordance with the donor requirements;
* Ensuring that all necessary costs have been included in the proposal budget;
* Gathering and analyzing information such as local costs information and historical cost information;
* Creating budget spreadsheet templates;
* Scheduling and managing proposal budget meetings;
* Preparing and writing the cost proposal and explanatory budget notes;
* Loading and maintaining budgets of awarded projects into the accounting system; and
* Analyzing monthly variance for all current projects.
The successful candidate will have:
* Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field;
* A minimum of four years experience in accounting or financial analysis;
* Strong written and verbal communication skills;
* Advanced Excel skills;
* Excellent organization and prioritization skills;
* Prior experience working with an NGO preferred; and
* Prior experience with USAID or USDA funded projects preferred.
